Hello Class and professor Smith
I think after completing the exercises in this course I would have to say The visualization exercise and the Meditation exercises were the best one for me in my opinion. I struggled with all the exercises to be honest and it was kind of frustrating to not get the results I saw others get, but I realize what works for one may not work for me and I am okay with that. Meditation though i have really begun to practice and felt this is the best exercise for me. I feel while meditating I get a good sense of clear mind and just being able to focus on my inner spirituality is something different and something I feel personal I need in my life. this is definetly a good way to put the daily stressors of life behind us. The visualization exercise worked for me in the sense of when it come to certain things I am a visual person and its what works best for me.
I think I will implement the meditation practices in my personal life to foster mental toughness because I have noticed the change mentally in myself since I have been doing this particular exercise. I feel like I am less stress and things don't get to me as much as they use to before I started meditating. I meditate atleast once a day preferably in the evening after work as its a best way for me to relieve the stress of the day. I think this exercise has paid a great benefit to myself.

Unit 6 blog
Hey Class and Professor Smith
I have to say that the exercises on page 93 and 115 seem very interesting but I am struggling with seeing any results with in myself. I thought the phrases on page 93 made lots of sense but I didn't feel I gain much in terms of the exercises unfortunately. I do not know if anyone is having the same issue as I am but I try and try the exercises and do not come out with much. I see the logic behind them and they make sense its just I do not feel any different doing them. If you have any insight in regards to my posting please feel free to advise whats been working for yourself and whats not been working its always good to hear others thoughts on the struggles I am having connecting to the exercises.

I enjoyed the Subtle mind exercise a lot more than I did the Love-Kindness exercise. I thought that this exercise while it could be challenging was a lot more intriguing to me. I do really think it is tough to not allow your mind to wonder, when we have a million and one things going on all at once. I think this why this particular exercise was very tough, but proved to be good. I thought the exercise showed me how to be able to focus more on things that bring my mind to a peaceful place Vs the things that keep it racing as all times. I realize in order to have this type of peace of mind we need to not allow ourselves to be free in the mind and not focus on the things that won’t allow our minds to be free.
I think the connection of spiritual wellness to mental and physical wellness all starts with the spiritual side of things. In my opinion in order to be fully focused and maximize your mental and physical aspect of wellness one has to have the mind cleared and focused on the task. The best way of doing that, is getting in touch with the spiritual side and incorporate the practices such as meditation which allows the mind to be clear and free. I found that in myself my workouts got better my mental toughness improved when I was able to find a comfort level in meditation. I think that’s the most important thing is finding what works best for us when it comes to the task of putting the mind to ease. I think that’s the first step in improving all other aspects once that done and the spiritual side is good then that allows the mental side to improve as well which makes the physical side a breeze to get through which how they all are connected, one helps the other.

Unit 4 blog post
Question 1) I listen to the Cd and while the experience may be interesting and work for others I didn't necessarily find it beneficial to myself. I don't think I would completely rule it out in terms of recommending it to others as we are all different human beings and react differently to things. I just think my thought process is different, I don't get stressed much if not any and I am always in a state of mind of being relaxed. It is my personality and who I am, even though it didn't work for me I still would recommend it for others because as I stated before people view things differently.
Question 2) In terms of mental workout I think it refers to your internal thought process that allows us to focus in on major things or even take that time out to relax our mind. I view it as our own space time in our mind that no one can get to. I personally think we implement mental workouts with out even knowing that we are doing it in my opinion. Every time we take a step back process our thoughts or take a step back and take a deep breathe in a tough moment to collect ourselves is a form of mental workout in my opinion.

Unit 3 Blog
1)Based on my reflections on a scale of 1-10 I would say my physical wellbeing is at a 8. I try to eat right and I work out and stay as active as possible. My spiritual wellbeing is at a 9 as I feel that I am in tune with my inner self and beliefs. My Psychological wellbeing is at a 10 as I feel I have a good strong grip on my mental state and regular everyday life stressors.
2)My goals for myself would be spiritually to remain true to myself and my beliefs, physically to remain in shape by working out regularly as I am doing and psychologically to remain positive during all times good or bad.
3) For me my exercise is a coaching youth kids and continuing to run and play basketball on a regular basis as I am currently doing.
4)The exercise was very good. I am not one who mediates in that style but I found it to be very relaxing and it has given me a different school of thought on meditation although it can be a bit frustrating.

My first Blog
Hello class and Professor Smith I am sorry for this late posting but I have been dealing with some major personal issues that life has thrown my way. I am being as strong as possible and I am now ready to return to class and get it rocking. My name is Luc Pauleus and I am a Profession Studies student here at KU. I also work with KU as well. I have been living in sunny South Florida for the past 6 years and love it. I am originally from NYC born and raised and I am a huge Yankees, Giants, and Knicks fans. I come from a big family and speak 3 different languages English, French, and Creole and I am working on my fourth language Spanish. I coach youth basketball for kids ages 8-15 its my way of working with today's youth and giving back to the community. I am a sports nut and work very hard and love my family and traveling. That's pretty much me in a nut shell. I look forward to getting to know everyone in these last 6 weeks.
